What do you think about this topic on femininity? What can we do to get along better as a society? Let’s start a thread below 👇🏽

i think modern feminism has strayed from its OG core believes and goals. It would be 1 thing if a bunch of guys said this but its another when a bunch of women ALSO say this. In my opinion, yes.
From personal experience, to and seeing hearing other stories, and the countless videos on every social media platform, it feels like most women don't want to be the same as men or equal, but they want more. And that to me is a system doomed to fail itself.
      But thats my take.

I believe that society is finally swinging back to a point (in general, not either side of the extremes blasted on social media,) where people understand the healthy difference between masculinity and femininity. My issue with this whole thing, and almost every single take from these interviews in the video, is it feels like although women know what their feminine desires/instincts lead them toward, they don't seem cognizant of or willing to put in the effort that accompanies a woman's work. That is to say; I dislike hearing from so many women my own age saying they want to be a stay at home wife/mother so they can "put their feet up and relax" or do whatever while their husband works.... That's not what being a woman is about.
Being a mature adult, whether you're a man or woman, should lead you to work and sacrifice and love. If you have a husband, take excellent care of him to the best of your abilities, make sure he's happy and thriving. If you have kids, work hard at spending time with them, educating them, making sure they become well rounded adults. If you have a home, spend time taking care of it, cleaning, gardening, organizing--whatever. I just hate the misconception that being a home maker, wife, and mother, is all about doing your own thing and it isn't work. Give back to your husband, your family, neighbors, and community. Don't strive to be idle.

@@MyDogisEvil I would agree with u but women haven’t had more than 70 years of rights to prove that women want more than men. Getting rights and actually receiving them in society are two different things, in a society that for the longest of time has promoted traditional roles for both men and women. Today both women and men bash each other for stepping out of their “traditional gender roles “ while praising those that don’t. Women for the first time are participating in society apart from staying at home, they can do what men don’t want and men do what they don’t want to do either. It’s about accepting that women can do just as much as men can and that men can help them achieve their goals by making the world as safe as possible for women just like it is for men.

I still like to get my nails done, do my makeup, etc. I just happened to like that type of work..

      @flameshoter6 Год назад +4

I agree. Everything depends on the individual's mindset. But there is always influence by others and society no matter what. It depends on whether you choose to apply what they say or not. And some genetic / hormonal reactions. This applies to both men and women. Just as you are not sure of what makes up femininity, many believe is caring, nurturing, and supporting; men don't know what makes them masculine other than being stoic, protecting, and supporting financially. Perspective of others will always have different opinions and different levels.
For me as a male, many people seem to be scared of me. A woman a few months ago at my office told me that she was scared of me. But after speaking with her, she changed her mind. That's because I'm stoic. I'm not reaching out to everyone due to being shy around others. I'm perfectly comfortable sitting in my own cubicle getting work done alone. But many want me to go around talking to them, but they don't necessarily do the same. Both men and women are the same when talking to them. They want to know what I did over the weekend. I'll share at least one thing. If I ask them, they kind of avoid saying anything.
I wouldn't think of you as less feminine working in manufacturing. Women tend to be associated with brightening up the room. Meaning they will socialize with a lot of people, making people feel more comfortable and open to share.
A woman may be more masculine if they have certain physical traits like a square jaw that is more prominent. Maybe its how they walk. An article I saw online says that women tend to be more graceful and having flowing movements, whereas men may seemed more dragged and less graceful. Feminine women tend to have a lighter voice. Versus talking loudly or dominating verbally over others. As for traits, aggression and dominance is seen as less feminine. Sports, camping, hunting, cars, body building, etc is looked as more masculine interests. More masculine traits may be more ambitious, competitive, and more rational than listening to emotions. But you can still be feminine with all of those if you tend to be less stoic.

Seriously a few centuries ago everyone who wasn't rich from the young to the old, man or woman broke their backs working farmland just to keep from starving.
People get too hung up on cultural ideas as being intrinsic.
The great irony is that in nature typically it's the males who make a big visual fuss.
Just look at peacocks vs peahens 😅, to say nothing of the various birds of paradise.
Only a handful of centuries ago it was completely normal and accepted for men (at least the upper class who could afford it) to wear lace in their clothes and use cosmetics.

If cheating stats rely on self-reporting, then it's going to make men look like they're worse because men are more likely to admit it and get caught. Women, on the other hand, guard the truth behind their age, weight, and body count, so of course, you will be a massive group of women unwilling to admit they cheated & are great at keeping it a secret. Even the women who have been caught red-handed cheating will go on to rationalize it in a way where they can say they didn't really cheat, so even that group won't give you straight answers. Lastly, men have an aversion to admitting to people they were cucked and definitely won't scream it from the rooftops, so men naturally sweep stuff under the rug or under-report to save face.

You see it with the women in this video where they point to being "feminist with some traditional values" Where you tend to see a total rejection of natural female roles (i.e child bearing) whilst upholding it for men
This is more apparent on the virtue front in desiring dominant men, whilst rejecting subservience. And this is what's causing the confusion that GEN was talking about as the minds of women today work in conflict with natural desires (which is mistakenly labeled tradition) which wrongfully aligns your being to reality producing conflict, confusion and stress.

      - Going into a creative field, art, theatre, music. These tend not to pay well but they can be far more rewarding if it is where your passion lies
      - You could go into a caring profession; nursing, teaching, elder care, these are all undervalued but NEEDED roles that I have infinite gratitude for.
      - You could be a first responder, (police, fire, ambulance, civil defense). You have to be physically strong and capable and calm in a crisis.
      - Picking up a trade and becoming a tradee (builder, plumber, electrician, heavy machinery operator, trucker). These blue-collar professions are surprisingly well-paying, especially if you set up your own company.
      - Starting your own business and being an entrepreneur. This assumes you have some capital that you are willing to risk. Very long hours and very risky but potentially huge payoff.
None of these jobs, nor the corporate ones, require any form of condescension to men.

It's not something she is forced to do, but she naturally is quite caring and will make sure the house is kept in check. Mind you taht doesn't mean she always does it all herself, but also delegates it to my brother and I. Nonetheless she's the one who knows what needs doing when it comes to the house.

My mom decided she wanted to be a professor because she bought the feminist dream.
So she started going back to school, and while she was focusing on her career 3 out of her 4 childrens' lives fell apart. My oldest brother became an alcoholic and quickly racked up 3 DUI's, my sister became an opioid addict single mother with two kids from different fathers, she still lives at home as a 40 year old and is entirely dependent.
My mom earned TWO masters degrees while her favorite teenage son was deliberately flunking out of highschool to sleep in my car as I rapidly became a deadbeat alcoholic. After 10 years of struggling I managed to beat that addiction alone, but now I feel crippled and hopeless. That's the reality of feminism.
So now she's a 65 year old woman now with a middling career in education, half her children's lives are in utter ruins, and the other half are deeply resentful towards her abandonment of us when we needed a mother.

Single mothers are something else, my mom worked 3 jobs (1 full time, 1 part time and night shift) and still took care of the household for years until we were old enough to pick up after ourselves.
Single moms are the closest thing to superheroes. I have so much admiration for them especially because at no point do you ever hear them complain or be entitled, they are just pure hard-working, brave, strong, kind people.
They deserve so much more respect than these fake delusional femcels on Twitter spamming "slaayyyy gurlboss" when they belittle guys for no reason.
If the attention shifted to showing the image of single mothers in a more mainstream way I guarantee it would eradicate most of the toxic red-pilled men community, because these people don't go outside.

Used to be pretty masculine back then on my middle school days because I was essentially having an existential crisis as to who I was, I didn't really fit in that well and with constant "feminity is not as good as masculinity" being pushed down to you by feminism I decided it'd be best to stay masculine. Wasn't until I met my boyfriend I realised he deserved a good woman when I fell for him, therefore I started being more in touch with my more feminine self (I still struggle too much with it though, my interests are kinda boyish honestly and I don't think it'll ever change lol), I would genuinely just love to give him kids and stay at home raising them, but a lot of people like my mom might say that it's not viable and that I can do "more", but honestly, I don't care. I'll do it because that's what I feel like my role is, and it'll never change. I sometimes have days I struggle with my femininity and laying back, but it's still one of my priorities. I feel like women would be a ton happier if they got to relax more and be on their feminine energy, but these days it's pretty hard and I admit it.

Additionally, the introduction of OnlyFans seemed out of place and didn’t add much to the discussion. I felt that the video was trying to push a certain narrative instead of providing a comprehensive answer to the question at hand. It would have been better if the video had delved deeper into the subject of femininity and conducted more research. Great video Gen! I liked on how you covered this issue. Even though I'm a supportive of women's rights, women's right to choose, and against discrimination policies against women however I have some concerns about the feminist movement for different reasons. I myself have autism with a learning disability and I have been bullied by women including girls about having a disability, other times i would face harassment from women including girls in public places, sometimes in a work place, and other settings. Also what is hard is when women including girls use the me too movement or feminist movement to attack people with disabilities' rights or even use to bully me. There are times where I have deal with challenges when management or other institutions allow women including girls to not face repercussions for being a bully due to them saying that women don't need to be punished. To be fair, I struggle with social situations and sometimes my disability affects me on how to understand social cues I feel scared to even be friends or associated with girls including women when they would do these types of mean behavior on me. The best thing that I can do is if I have to have conversations with women or girls all I can do is casual conversations like how are you?, how was your week?, and other casual conversations to be on the safe side. If I have to meet a girl to hangout the best strategies is I learn is to meet in a public place or bring a recorder to record a conversation just in case to protect myself from wrongful bad rumors or accusations. I do feel scared about how the feminist movement is being used as a tool of hate. I strongly believe in women's rights, women should have the choice to make decisions about their bodies, and don't support discrimination policies. I wish that women including girls could use the feminist movement as a tool of good and have compassion including understanding when people have struggles or when people have disabilities or some mental health or if they struggle on social situations. I hope that this comment is easy to understand and that it is balanced.

This was basically inconclusive. Most women do not appear to thrive when they just act like men all the time, and most men do not appear to be attracted to women who act like men. Femininity is a really good thing. It’s been vilified by feminists for the last 20 years. Having no family and living for money has never made anyone happy long term. Ever. Family needs to be everyone’s number one priority, and then society will run better because kids will have a mom who actually is nurturing and a father in their lives to provide stability.

I agree with you, but only partially.
I truly don't think money and things is what makes people happy. Having enough to live comfortably and engage in hobbies is good, having more than that is unnecessary and wasteful.
It is also proven that humans need close relationships with others to thrive.
I don't think we need to reinstate antiquated gender roles in order to achieve a society that values money less and community more. It is the economic system itself, late-stage neoliberal capitalism, that alienates people from our work and each other leaving us lonely and purposeless. I think we would all be happier if we were working directly to support our community rather than for a faceless and greedy corporation.

@@bananewane1402 Kids need a mom. All successful people I know grew up with a Mom in their home when they were small and a Father who behaved pretty masculine in his own way. Many people who fail utterly in adult life had both parents at work all the time. "Antiquated" gender roles are objectively the most proven system to produce good and capable people. I don't think we should force anyone into that, but to claim anything else is better is foolish because nothing bears out that conclusion. Capitalism isn't bad as long as money isn't the top priority, and it isn't in the ideal capitalist society. The idea of capitalism is that the butcher helps me and profits and I help the butcher and profit. A community can't replace a nuclear family, and nothing can replace having a Mom who is present and a Father who is present and having them act like who they actually are.

Men are more crucial than women if you want everything you see around you. If you want to go back to living in dirt huts banging rocks then sure “one gender isn’t more crucial than the other”. Your false egalitarianism doesn’t work if men don’t show up to work.

How I view femininity vs masculinity is not so much what a person can do but how they do it. Masculine is usually focused outward and feminine is focused inward. For instance, masculine jobs might work with hands while the feminine takes on nuturing roles. Feminine role might be house work while masculine would be yard work. If an intruder was to enter the house, the masculine would fight them while the feminine would protect (eg. sheilding children with their own body). Feminine is emotions, masculine is physical. Nurturing or providing.
Even within my own relationship, my partner thinks about solving problems from a more outward thought pattern - how would this decision impact us financially, security, etc. Whereas I think about solving problems inwardly - how would this impact us emotionally, mentally, etc.
Different relationships might take on different roles but finding the right balance in the relationship is what is important so that one person isn't carrying all of the masculine and feminine. Personally I believe modern feminism has disadvantaged women as it puts pressure on them to carry both sides even if they don't want to, while simultaneously scolding men if they want to be masculine.

Feminity and Masculinity are a spectrum. No one is 100% masculine nor 100% feminine. Society defined the terms and pushed each gender to a specific side based on generalized inherint qualities that they believed each sex was born with. I believe it's good that society has now found it acceptable that men can be more feminine and women can be more masculine but it's important to let people be who they want to be. We should not be forcing more feminine women to be maculine nor more masculine men to be feminine. Again, this is a spectrum and we need people all along it to have a true diverse society and telling a male or female that they need to behave a certain way is just wrong, regardless of the side you're pushing them to.
Also, toxic masculinity is just a bad term that needs to be updated to something like forcefull bullying. The equivilent on the femine side would be a mean girl culture that is emotional bullying.
